THANK YOU!
Thanks goes out to the entire Millbrook Community for coming together and making such a beautiful day even more beautiful. Without each and every one of you we wouldn't have had such a successful Day!
Everyone loved the Book Festival and the village!Amazing Village support!
Dear Millbrook Book Festival Committee,
What a fantastic Book Festival! I especially enjoyed the Poetry discussion, which was excellent. The Festival fit well into our local culture, which includes a variety of interests. This is important because, as Marshall McLuhan says, the "medium is the message," and the medium here conveyed a very important message about our area.
I look forward to next year's Book Festival. Thank you for all your work, and I know it was a lot. (By the way, your website is excellent!) My friends and I deeply appreciate your efforts.
More comments coming!
If you have a story to tell or a comment to make to improve on the festival please email info@millbrookbookfestival.org

Village of Millbrook Announces Inaugural Book Festival
On May 16 and 17, the village of Millbrook will host its first book festival, Spring into Books.
This village-wide event promises a fun, free, and family-oriented day of lively panel discussions with award-winning authors, book signings, and events for children.
Kickoff festivities begin Friday, May 16 at 6 p.m. when the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies, 2801 Sharon Turnpike (Route 44A), will host a reception for the public featuring live music and refreshments. At 7 p.m. Andrew C. Revkin, environmental reporter for The New York Times, will give a presentation titled "The Uncertain Journey Toward Nine Billion: Communicating Ecology on a Crowding Planet." Festival goers are invited to take tours of the Cary Institute and attend science demonstrations from 4 p.m to 6 p.m.
On Saturday, May 17, book lovers of all ages are invited to join authors for signings and panel discussions at locations throughout Millbrook. Topics include Literary Fiction, Romance, Mystery, Historical Fiction, Local History, Poetry, Picture Books, and Spirituality. Local eateries and community organizations will be selling meals throughout the day, and will close the festival with family-friendly stand-up comedy at 7 p.m.
Authors slated to appear at the festival include Valerie Martin, whose novel Property, won the Orange Prize; children's writer Alan Katz, whose books include Are You Quite Polite?, and whose television writing has garnered several Emmy nominations; mystery writer Julia Spencer-Fleming, an Edgar Award finalist for her novel Out of the Deep I Cry; and Jennifer Donnelly, recipient of the Carnegie Medal for her young adult novel A Northern Light.
